The flag of the State of Wisconsin is a blue flag charged with the state coat of arms with the words "Great Seal of the State of Wisconsin" above it and 13 stars, representing the original states, below it. At the top of the flag is the the state motto "Forward", and a badger, the state animal. In the center is the state shield including a plow representing agriculture, a pick and shovel representing mining, an arm-and-hammer representing manufacturing an anchor, representing navigation, and the U.S. coat of arms including the motto E Pluribus Unum. The shield is supported by a sailor and a miner representing labor on water and land. At the bottom is a cornucopia representing prosperity and abundance and 13 lead ingots representing mineral wealth and the 13 original United States.
