Scrims are metal screens mounted on a metal frame. They are placed in front of a light to reduce the intensity of the light. Arri makes four different types of scrims. Full Single - This scrim covers the entire light face and reduces the intensity of the entire light beam. Full Double - Again this scrim covers the entire light face. It has two metal screens, reducing the light intensity twice the amount of the full single. Half Single - This scrim only covers half of the light face reducing half the intensity of the light beams. Half Double - Same as Half Single, but reduces the light intensity twice as much as Half Single.
